10 Ways to Generate Great Sales Leads

Too much selling time is spent talking with people who have no need for, or interest in, what you are offering. The truth is, almost anyone can dramatically improve their sales results if they have great leads.

Here are 10 ways to build a steady flow of leads that will dramatically increase your closing percentage.

1. Call all of your old clients and ask about new opportunities. This has time and again proven to be the most powerful prospecting approach.

2. Send a series of 5 letters to a targeted list offering them a special report that relates to your offering. Only the truly interested people will respond.

3. Start an e-mail newsletter that has high value to your prospects. If the value is high enough, existing clients will forward it and your list will grow. I get new business every time I send out my newsletter.

4. Give a seminar and invite people who are in your target market. Even if it is free, only those who really want what you are offering will attend.

5. Join a trade association where the members are in your target market. Get active in the leadership so they see you as a leader. Don’t be shy about letting people know why you are there.

6. Send postcards that include an offer that a real prospect could not ignore. Postcards are cheaper than letters and don’t have to be opened.

7. Scan your competition’s web site for lists of customers or testimonials. That will give you a list of those who might need a different supplier.

8. Make a list of 25 hot prospects and contact them every month. You can mix up your contacts with e-mail, calls, letters and articles.

9. Write articles and place them in publications that are read by your prospects. Include an offer in each article.

10. Use 2 or 3 of the approaches above and build a plan that you execute every month. Even if you have to hire someone to do it, make sure you are never too busy to prospect.

Proven MLM Lead Generation Strategy- How to Generate More Sales and Leads Using Your Blog

Every network marketer is always looking for a proven mlm lead generation strategy that will not only increase their lead base, but will ultimately increase the amount of sales that are coming in on a regular basis. The main problem with most networkers is the ability to STICK to what they’ve started. The hardest part of getting is receiving and if the business owner is looking for something very quick, chances are, they will quit before the harvest shows up.

Step 1: So the first critical step in increasing sales and leads to your blog is dependent upon the structure and look of your site. Using the right colors will trigger an emotional response in your prospect to want to stay longer and read what you have to say. Using colors like a bright yellow or a blue, which actually triggers a “calm” response in people will deem perfect.

Step 2: The second and probably the most critical step would be to have a form like Aweber where you can collect and capture identity such as an email and name. Once your capture your prospect’s information, you are now able to start the communication process in order to close more sales.

Step 3: The third step in generating more sale and leads for your network marketing or small home business is to use a call to action step. If you don’t direct your prospects where to go, you will lose out on getting the results you want. Use obvious arrows, “click here’s”, and redirecting pages to increase your rate at which you capture more identity.

Step 4: Probably more important than step one is your message. If you really want to get good at generating leads for your mlm home business, you need to master speaking the right message. In other words, people will come to you if you are truly authentic and not trying to be like everyone else. The right message means you truly stand apart from the masses and present all of yourself in a persistent manner with added VALUE at all times.

Targeted Niche Marketing for Lead Generation and Sales

Targeted marketing is not a new idea. The more you relate your service offering to that of a prospect, the more likely you’ll engage with (a person within) a company to start a conversation with your brand. That said, many companies are still being far too generic with targeted marketing messages and as a result are not generating quality sales leads. So, what are they doing wrong and what should they do about it?

People Care About Their Own Problems

Many organisations market to their customers and sales prospects in the same way with very little differentiation. It’s definitely cheaper, easier and much quicker to take this generic approach, but how engaging is it for the people that matter?

When it comes to creating compelling marketing messages, you have all the ammunition you need. You already have clients; think about the issues and resolutions you face with each of them on a monthly basis. The problems your clients face (that require your solution) are all very different. Not just between public sector and private sectors but also within the vertical markets you work with. And, the more niche you get, the more likely you will begin to see correlation and opportunities to develop targeted marketing campaigns.

Customers Crave Your Intelligence

Many companies suggest that they have leading intelligence within their business. It’s a differentiator they will tell you, but they keep it hidden behind locked doors. If your sales, marketing or development team is comprised of experts, you already have the knowledge that customers crave. You just need to share it.

You could be creating compelling case studies and articles, targeted for your niche markets. The audience may be smaller but there are two key factors to take into consideration when it comes to niche marketing:

The chances of engaging people with your marketing increases with relevance.
Using digital platforms, you can easily market to multiple niche markets coset-effectively.
Creating The Marketing Message

This is a stumbling block that many companies imagine – what do I write that will attract attention and engage my audience? This is actually a very easy process:

Your account management team spend time with customers – ask them what their current issues are. You’ll notice a consensus that can be collated and used to create white papers, useful opinion pieces, and “how to” articles that can be used for marketing.
Use online polls and surveys with existing clients or target your niche markets with surveys using tools such as emedia’s Market Survey Tool.
Use industry specific case studies from successful projects you have worked on to create engagement with niche audiences. Whether you can reference the client or not, you should be able to create before / during and after scenarios that demonstrate your expertise and engage sales prospects.
Using The Right Language

When you create content; however you are using it; the more specific you make it (within reason) the more you will ‘connect’ with existing customers in the same niche, or, when targeting new sales leads.

Use feedback mechanisms to understand the language that your customers use and the things that are important about the solution from their point-of-view. Don’t undo all the hard work of research by not selling the relevant benefits to the clients so that they understand them.

Have conversations with customers, undertake keyword research and read industry magazines to ascertain the language, phrases and industry speak that pertains to the niche – not to your business.

Distribution

There are a number of routes to distribute your marketing message. The more segmented your data, with acute relevance to your niche, the better. What return on investment could you expect from just one new client win? Surely, it is worth doing the research up front to make sure your marketing message is as targeted as possible.

Send your best practice case studies and white papers to industry specific customers using email marketing or direct mail – even better, a client meeting. Target niche markets for sales lead generation with relevant online PR, advertising campaigns or industry specific email bulletins.

Common Pitfalls

One of biggest mistakes companies make when creating niche marketing campaigns is to undermine the value for the person at the other end. With pressure to deliver, many marketers convert the marketing message to a sales message.

Unfortunately, this has the opposite effect for the customer, who is looking for value. They are interested in themselves and how their job could be made easier. Direct sales is becoming harder and harder, simply down to volume and you could turn people off if you market too aggressively.

By formulating a nurturing sales lead generation campaign you can maximise your business intelligence to lead people into the sale rather than push them. And, with a researched, tangible benefit to offer, you should be able to engage them so they are actively involved in the sales process.

Case Study

An online marketing consultancy works with home improvement companies and has good case studies that demonstrate success for sales lead generation in that sector. They understand the market well and, because competition is regionalised, they are in a position to expand their client base into neighbouring geographic areas without directly competing against existing clients.

So, they create industry specific sections on their website with relevant case studies, discussing the current issues facing the industry – the key one being how to generate sales pipeline. The digital marketing agency has the solution and clearly demonstrates through the case studies and niche white papers that they have experience to deliver.

Then, they create a targeted niche database of businesses. Companies who have a web profile that is a) not in the top ten; and b) has the potential to improve. Finding these companies takes time but with annual potential profit from each client worth around £5,000, ROI suggests that investment in time should be made.

With a quality database in place, individual clients can be approached with a very targeted message. For scalability, industry email bulletins or search-based advertising could be used.

For instance, advertising campaigns could be set up to attract companies checking out their own competition using pay-per-click or LinkedIn advertising.

Summary

Creating niche marketing propositions takes longer and is harder than traditional ‘one size fits all’ marketing. But, with the proper research and the development of a refined marketing message, market penetration can be improved with increased profile building and improved sales lead pipeline performance.

How To Generate Direct Sales Leads: An Eye-Opener of a Story

“This S%&! doesn’t work! I’ve read everything. I attend every Webinar. How can He come in and have better results?! I just don’t get it…what does he do differently?”

Joe thought in his mind how he could easily name 3 or 4 more strategies Jim doesn’t use.

Joe continued to go back and forth in his head, “Why the hell haven’t I seen the results yet?”

It wasn’t fair; he knows how to generate direct sales leads as well as any of them. Give him a few minutes of your time and he’ll tell you at least 7 different ways to generate traffic.

It was absolutely ridiculous to Joe that Jim had been able to come in to the same opportunity, at the same time, and see twice the results.

After all, Joe consumed EVERYTHING he could. While it seemed that Jim didn’t do half the stuff of Joe.

Jim Understood the Value of Simplicity & That Pesky Little Devil Who Lives in The Details

You see, Joe knew early that he needed to learn how to generate direct sales leads. So, he went out and gathered EVERYTHING that had to do with generating leads and driving traffic.

On the other hand, Jim decided he needed to become a Master of 3 simple things to become a success. And then, he would be in a position to ALWAYS have leads.

That is the biggest disconnect between the Successful Entrepreneur and the Unsuccessful Entrepreneur.

While Joe was off reading EVERY email and attending EVERY webinar from dusk till dawn, Jim was methodically charting out his route to success.

Every day Jim had tasks to be done. Nothing difficult, just small tasks that needed to be done.

Joe, on the other hand, never felt like he had any time to get anything done. How could he possibly do something when he didn’t have all of the info!

Joe had started a long string of tools. You name it and Joe could talk to you about for hours.

However, when you asked Joe how these things are working for his business, he always seemed to have the same answer…

“Oh…yeah, yeah, yeah I was using that technique for a little bit, but that technique doesn’t work so I dumped it. Now I’m into….”

Quite the contrast of Jim.

When Jim started he focused on Valuable Content/Marketing, Conversions/Sales and Duplication

When Joe got started ALL he wanted was more leads.

Jim cultivated a business based on Valuable Content/Marketing, Conversions/Sales and Duplication. He had trust in the community.

When Jim put out a piece of Content…people noticed.

Of course Jim understood the importance of the distribution of his Content. However, it did not require the utmost attention. Jim’s contribution to the market was only going to lead to business if the content had true Value.

So, while both Joe and Jim use tools for Social Media, Web 2.0 distribution, SEO, Blogs, Capture Pages, etc.

Only Jim understands all of those things are only tools.

Jim, on the other hand, went on to build a multiple 6 figure business over the next 12-18 months. Jim never lost sight of providing Valuable Content/Marketing, Sales/Conversions and Duplication.

The better Jim got at these 3 simple things the higher his Income would go!

These 3 simple things allow Jim to basically do more with less time. And, as time goes on, his business continues to grow exponentially through duplication…what a life!

Easy Ebay Incomes, a Totally Unique Ebay Business

I came across a brilliant idea a short while ago and thought that I would share it with you.

I am a total non-techie Ebayer and the thought of building an Ebay store scared me to death, until I met a friend who is generating a totally automated income that’s so hassle-free it amazed me.

My friend Mike, a confirmed non techie, recently told me how he runs several niche stores on the worlds top auction site, and makes a profit from all of them whilst doing very little work.

Mike was the original information junkie, he must have purchased more get rich quick schemes than any person that I have ever met, so I was more than interested when he gave me an insider look into his easy Ebay incomes stream.

The problem that Mike faced, like thousands of others, was that he always had a great idea but no clue how to bring it to market, or no money to pay for inventory. This accepted, he went along the route of exploiting Ebay, its products, and its ever-flowing stream of traffic.

Mikes automated income streams run like this:

· He uses automated software to build a niche store on Ebay as he freely admits to being unable to do this.

· He joined Ebay as an affiliate and imports products already being sold within the auctions, the software does this and attaches his affiliate link to each product.

· He uses easy to apply marketing tips to drive traffic to his store.

· He generates sales, gets paid and ships NO product as the sellers do it for him.

One of Mike’s income streams is based on a fairly well known rock band and works like this.

The store is built on a theme surrounding the band and merchandise, such as T shirts and tickets to the bands shows (they are currently on a major world tour) is offered for sale and when any product relating to the band is sold, Mike makes a profit for doing nothing.

Another of Mike’s income streams is Ice Hockey, and he showed me how he makes a nice income from selling equipment that he has no money to purchase and I was surprised, I know nothing about Ice Hockey, at how many highly priced items are covered within this niche area.

Normally when I review an original idea I am put off by the cost or longevity of the opportunity, but I cannot see a limit to the potential of this business and the profits that it could potentially generate.

I especially like the fact that it is very workable and in a stable ever-increasing marketplace and perhaps most importantly, allows non-technicals like most of us to position themselves in niches that interest us.

As somebody once said:

“Find something to do that makes money and that you enjoy doing and you will never work another day in your life.”
